NuVation Client Story
A wonderful couple in the North County was referred to our company. He was 85, his wife was 81 and diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Their son came out from Wisconsin to assist his parents with moving from their home of many years to a retirement community. He and his parents were overwhelmed. We were asked to help. The first step was to determine what should be integrated into their new home. The second step was to get their household organized, carefully packed, and schedule for our qualified moving company to complete the transfer. While the parents sat comfortably in their family room at home with their son, the NuVation Company worked in coordinating the move, completely unpacking, arranging the furniture, and preparing their new residence to be their new home. Three hours later, our clients walked into their new home, dishes in the cabinets, clothes in the closets, pictures on the wall, clean sheets on the bed and clean towels in the bathroom. After their comfort was assured, with every item and every personal treasure right in place, we put the house on the market. Soon thereafter, we conducted an estate sale for their remaining unwanted personal property. The house was sold for an excellent price and escrow was closed within 45 days of their move. Our client was very pleased with our services, but moreover, relieved that it was over. They were home, safe and comfortable.
The NuVation Company works exclusively with Seniors wanting and/or needing to move from their private residences into a retirement community. Our typical clients are incapable of dealing with the physical and emotional strains in making such a difficult transition. Many individuals prefer to postpone such an ordeal, until it is often too late. Their family is not readily available and they don’t have anyone they can really ask for help. That is why this specialized service was conceived. The NuVation Company handles the transition from beginning to end. We are not a placement service, a packing company, an auctioneer or a real estate firm. We are all of those services plus much more. With the myriad of tasks that must be addressed, our Seniors need one reliable source to depend upon. Our services include identifying the right senior community, move out/move in, complete setup in their new home, disposing of any unneeded personal property through estate sales, consignment, donations, etc., preparing for sale and selling their real estate. Of course there are dozens of other details that we handle, but those are our primary duties.
Our belief is to assist the Senior community, not take advantage. Our compensation comes solely from the sale of the real estate. A standard 6% commission is our only charge. There are no other percentages or fees. We are paid through escrow. As far as we know, this service has not been duplicated anywhere. With your help, we can inform more Seniors of our unique service and therefore be in a position to help with their difficult transitions. The NuVation Company began in January of 1999. We have two offices from which to serve San Diego County. We would gladly make ourselves available for an interview as a prelude to an article in your Publication.
